Copper Rivet Distillery, Pump House No 5, Leviathan Way, Chatham Dockyard, Chatham, ME4 4LP
3 course dinner, coffee and all wine, beer and soft drinks

ATTENDANCE IS BY INVITATION ONLY:

At a time of much uncertainty for business, there is more value than ever in local business leaders coming together to support each other and to exchange ideas and opportunities.

With this in mind we stage the Kent Business Leaders Dinner series. Our next event is on Wednesday 6 July at The Pumproom.

Having opened the very successful Copper Rivet Distillery in 2016 at Chatham Maritime, the Russell family, Bob and sons, Matthew and Stephen opened The Pumproom@CopperRivet in April 2021 offering a relaxed fine dining experience.

A drinks reception will be served from 5.30pm on the riverside terrace with breath taking views over the River Medway and Upnor Castle.

Tickets are fully inclusive of arrival drink, 3 course dinner, coffee and all wine, beer and soft drinks.*

We are delighted that Richard Hicks, Director of Place and Deputy Chief Executive at Medway Council will be speaking before dinner.

This event enables like-minded business leaders to gather in an informal and relaxed environment. We encourage all our guests to talk freely and to exchange opinions and ideas in a confidential and supportive environment. As a result, we ask guests to respect that this event is held under ‘Chatham House’ rules, hence no media representatives will be present.

Dress Code: Usual Business Attire

Keynote Speaker: Richard Hicks

Richard drives the delivery of the Council’s placemaking agenda, seeking to establish Medway as a great place to live, to work, to learn and to visit.

As Director of Place and Deputy Chief Executive, Richard has responsibility for Frontline Services, Culture & Community, Regeneration and Communications & Marketing.

  • The Front Line Services division provides essential services for our customers and residents, such as Waste, Bereavement, Registration, Highways and Transport
  • The Culture and Community division is key to delivering one of the largest free events and festival programmes in the country, together with providing an outstanding heritage and sporting offer, and investing in Medway’s Community Hubs and Libraries
  • The Regeneration division delivers our monumental regeneration programme and capital projects, including our Housing Infrastructure Fund programme, worth £170m
  • The Communications and Marketing division is key to delivering our Putting Medway on the Map agenda, together with the extensive positive coverage for Medway.

Medway has a rich heritage and a great future, and is one of the most promising growth areas in the UK. With our Castles, Cathedral, Historic Dockyard and connections with Dickens; with our fast train connections to London and Europe, our four universities and vibrant and growing economy, Medway has something for everyone, positioned midpoint between the capital and the continent. Richard is determined that Medway will fulfil its potential as a leading waterfront learning city.

Richard has held a number of roles at Medway since its inception in 1998, and before that time worked in a range of positions across Kent County Council, both at corporate and service level.
