Join us for the next Kent Invicta LIVE webinar where we will be discussing ‘Cyber Security – Keeping Vigilant and Staying Business Safe’. Hosted by Andrew Metcalf member of the board at Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce with guest speakers Neil Miller from TenIntelligence, and Antonio Fletcher from Brachers LLP.

Since the Government initiated a UK lock down, many people have shifted from office working to working from home.

While this has been the perfect opportunity for businesses to propel themselves into the 21st century and embrace new digital mediums, it is important organisations stay vigilant and business safe.

Over the last month, the team at TenIntelligence have been analysing trends of new or increased acts of fraudulent activity arising from the current crisis. The top ten issues being;

  • Increase in grant applications from fake funding businesses
  • Disgruntled furloughed/redundant employee’s stealing company information such as client lists and proposals
  • Fraudulent websites selling but not delivering personal protective equipment and supplies
  • Unauthorised doorstep cleaning services to protect from Covid-19
  • Data breaches relating to remote working and unauthorised access to personal information
  • Phishing emails advising the recipient’s mailbox is full but they can increase storage space free of charge by clicking on link provided
  • Emails and text messages to parents/carers offering free school meals for their children subject to providing bank details
  • Professional firms being targeted by companies requesting advance fees to assist with emergency supply chain procurement
  • Unregistered Charities and ‘GoFund’ style pages requesting financial donations for Covid-19 related projects

This webinar will discuss the most effective ways to digitally protect yourself, how to stay aware and how to respond if you have fallen victim of fraudulent activity. Antonio Fletcher will also guide you through the importance of ensuring policies and procedure’s are fit for purpose, adapted where necessary and well known by all members of staff.
