About The Royal Engineers Museum:

The Royal Engineers Museum (REM) Collection has been developed by the Corps of Royal Engineers over the last 300 years and now forms one of the most important military collections in the UK. The Library and archive were originally formulated in 1812 when Major Pasley founded the School of Military Engineering. The Museum first opened a century later on Brompton Barracks and moved to the Ravelin Building on Prince Arthur Road in 1987. This arresting Grade 2 listed building is accessible to the public Tuesday-Sunday from 10am-5pm all year round. With interactive exhibits for children, a café, varied venue hire opportunities and great value tickets valid for 12 months with exciting events (12 in 2025) all included in the price, the home of RE History is a must-visit destination.

The historic significance of the Collection was recognised in 1998 with the official award of Designated status, marking it as a pre-eminent collection of national and international importance. The Museum now welcomes 25,000 visitors a year showcasing an eclectic collection from the Sappers’ 300+ year history, including 25 VCs, Wellington’s Waterloo map, Chard’s revolver, a V2 rocket and a large section of the Berlin Wall. The Museum narrates the Corps’ evolution from medieval military architects to modern combat engineers.

Ample free parking is available as well as easy access via public transport. Please visit our website at: re-museum.co.uk for further details.
