About Us
MKA Architects has built a reputation for original and high-quality design since its formation in 1985.
Our team aims to design and create high-quality spaces and buildings which enrich and inspire you.
Based in Kent and working across the southeast, we are experienced in working in a wide range of sectors including:
- commercial
- education
- housing (private and multi-unit)
- public buildings, anywhere from rural spaces to city centres.
Extensive knowledge of planning
With extensive knowledge in the field of planning, we have negotiated planning permissions within the Green Belt and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs). In addition, we have experience working with listed buildings of all grades in design and planning and also construction.
We have developed close relationships with Local Planning Authorities in and around Kent and the home counties and work with many partners in the field of Planning and Local Authority Development Control.

We pride ourselves on being open and honest, offering advice that we believe will achieve successful planning approval or a positive response from Local Authorities.
Good communication is at the heart of it, we aim to liaise with you regularly keeping you up to date with developments on your project, so you feel part of the team and the design process.
