The Fifth Trust Music Room Campaign

We are raising funds to rebuild the music room at our Elham Valley Vineyard site. Our students are adults with learning disabilities, we offer them 20+ activities to choose from and music is the most popular with 60 of our 170 students taking part in music sessions every week.  As a non-verbal medium, music is a means by which many of our students find it easier to express themselves, making it easier to interact with other’s and helping reduce anxiety and agitation.

Our current music room is in poor repair and not properly sound-proofed, which means we can’t use our recording equipment as often as we liked. We are looking to raise £50,000 to build a purpose built music room with a separate recording booth. To date we have raised £8,000 and we are looking to raise a further £10,000 via the Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK’s biggest match funding charity event.
