Hospice charity ellenor kicks off a transformative hat-trick of support this month, securing a three-year priority charity partnership with local football club, Dartford FC.

The collaboration will see the charity and football club working together towards raising money and awareness of what ellenor does for local people and their family after a life-limiting diagnosis.

From now until March 2028, ellenor and Dartford Football Club will launch a series of initiatives to raise awareness and support the services ellenor provides to patients, their families and the community. The tie-up involves a number of generous offerings from the club, including naming ellenor as its Community Stand Sponsor. If you’re at the club, take a look at the advertising which ellenor has scored pitch-side, in the stadium and programmes, and on social media.

Fans will be able to empty their pockets in collection pots and QR codes, or if they don’t carry cash, there will be QR codes for a digital donation placed around the club – at Princes Park Stadium.

And that’s not all – Dartford FC will also be putting in a good word for ellenor, promoting the charity and its services for people across North Kent including Dartford residents, encouraging partnerships among its network. ellenor will also be a guest at various club events and hosting their own events.

Through the partnership with Dartford FC, both organisations hope to highlight the number of ways that football fans and Dartfordians can make use of ellenor’s facilities and support the hospice too.

As well as inpatient and at-home care for people with life-limiting illness, ellenor offers a range of wellbeing and therapeutic services such as play and music therapy, and counselling.
Although the hospice is based in Northfleet, it serves people in Dartford too – and not just the patient – their families too if they also need support.

ellenor recently unveiled a new Wellbeing Centre which includes a sensory room for children, a fitness studio and even a small cinema room, plus rooms for clubs, counselling, hobbies and learning.

ellenor’s café was also revamped earlier this year and is open to all, not just those coming to the hospice – anyone can drop in, Monday – Friday from 10am – 2pm.
Enjoy delicious lunches, cakes, teas and coffees – ideal for businesses zipping up and down the A2; it’s just 5 minutes from the Wrotham/Gravesend town centre turn-off.

ellenor’s Head of Income Generation Sue Piper, said: “This three-year commitment from Dartford FC is a real game-changer for ellenor, helping us to encourage more local people to support and use our services. It’s a common misconception that a hospice is only for use by people facing their final days – but we’re so much more than that and we invite people to come in and see.
“We’re here for patients and their families too, to help them experience as many moments of happiness as possible in the time they have left together. Our facilities and events are open to all – not just those receiving our care.

“Through Dartford FC’s generosity and support, we hope to spread the message throughout our local area that ellenor is a joyful place for the whole community.”

A spokesman for Dartford Football Club said: “We are delighted to partner with ellenor, who carry out amazing work in the community and beyond.
“Not only do we welcome the charity as our new Community Stand Sponsor, but we will be supporting their initiatives to help raise awareness and support the services it provides.
“We look forward to growing our relationship with them.”
