ellenor’s 40th Year Celebration Branding
Kent-based hospice ellenor added a bold badge to its branding assets to celebrate reaching its milestone 40th year.
Designed by the charity’s senior Brand Designer Mili Estrada to complement the existing logo, the 40th badge incorporates elements of the Gravesend-based hospice’s work and values:
The imagery of a human hand…
…serves as a powerful symbol of care, one of the charity’s core values, reflecting the warmth, connection, and support provided to the community over the decades.
The circular shape…
…is a deliberate design choice, representing unity, continuity, and wholeness qualities that align perfectly with ellenor’s mission to provide 360, comprehensive support to patients and their families during their most challenging times. ellenor supports both the patient and those around them, with medical care plus so much more, including holistic, wellbeing, financial, physical therapy and spiritual support.
The ellenor ‘e’…
The charity’s recognisable ‘e’ initial remains visible, subtly as the zero in 40. It’s a lower case ‘e’ at the start of ellenor, to equally represent the two people the charity is named in honour of – Ellen and Norman Perolls, the parents of ellenor founder Graham.
Then and now…
‘Compassionate Care’ is a core value of staff and is a promise to patients, their families and the community that provides huge financial support through donations, fundraising, joining events and leaving gifts in wills.
40 years…
The design subtly highlights the 40 years of service, reinforcing the legacy of care that has endured and evolved over time.
Head of Marketing & Communications, Kate O’Mara, said: “Our 40th anniversary deserved something very special to mark it and the new badge encompasses so much of both the past and our future too.
“The ellenor brand is very well-known locally, where we have huge support in our communities, so we needed to stay within what our audiences recognise but also to create enough change for it to be noticed.”
