Chamber Charity Showcase Event Raises £254 For Bereaved Children Across Kent
Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce members and local businesses have helped raise £254 for Holding On Letting Go, the Chamber’s Charity of the Year, following a successful charity showcase event held at Chamber headquarters.
The event provided an opportunity for Chamber members and guests to learn more about the vital work undertaken by Holding On Letting Go (HOLG), which supports bereaved children, young people and their families across Kent.
Attendees heard how the charity provides one-to-one support, bereavement support weekends, resources for families, telephone support and specialist assistance within schools and local communities. The event also highlighted the increasing demand for bereavement support services and the lasting difference early intervention can make to children experiencing loss.
Thanks to the generosity of attendees, raffle ticket sales, donations and fundraising activities on the day, a total of £254 was raised to support the charity’s work.
Kent Invicta Chamber would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the event, along with local businesses that contributed prizes and fundraising activities. As the Chamber’s Charity of the Year, Holding On Letting Go is currently running its £350 for 300 Campaign, which aims to raise enough funding to support the growing number of children and young people accessing its services.
The charity estimates that it costs around £350 to provide a child with the bereavement support, resources and ongoing care they need. While it originally anticipated supporting around 300 children and young people this year, current demand is expected to exceed 500.
Businesses can continue to support the charity by donating raffle prizes for the upcoming Kent Invicta Chamber Business Awards on 19 November or by exploring volunteering opportunities with the organisation.
