Additional Funding For Youth Guarantee Announcement – £3,000 Hiring Incentive Payments To All Employers
The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions has announced the expansion of the Government’s Youth Guarantee.
The Government is expanding the Youth Guarantee with a further £900m to drive up opportunities over the next three years.
This reinforces the ambition for every 16–24-year-old across Great Britain to have the opportunity to be learning or earning, backed by a total £2.4 billion over the next three years.
We are building on the strong foundations of the Youth Guarantee and answering the calls of employers to go further.
This additional investment includes hiring incentives – delivered from June 2026 every employer in Great Britain who hires an eligible young person will be able to claim a £3,000 hiring incentive payment. All 18-24-year-olds, who are out of work and have been on Universal Credit for over 6 months in any Universal Credit conditionality group are eligible for this incentive.
