International Women’s Day

International women’s day is a global day of celebrating women and the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements they have achieved. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. Here at Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce we are huge advocates for equality and strive for change, with this we are gladly holding an event to celebrate International Women’s Day 2020 and bring women in business together.

Our aim for the day is to bring inspiring women from different industry’s together under one roof and provide discussion and workshops to help guide other women in business, helping them excel in their own working life.

The event will be hosted by our Chief Executive Jo James OBE, followed by Zoe Cairns ZC Social Media on her story to success, as well as a Social Media workshop based on ‘The 7 key steps to build your influence and personal brand online, locally, nationally and internationally.’ Also hear from Jane Priston about The Amy Johnson Project as well as an opportunity to join in a panel discussion with a Q&A session.

About Zoe and ZC Media;

Zoe is a highly respected and proficient International Social Media Speaker, Trainer and Consultant. Specialising in many areas but focusing on one of the many areas people do not cover when they first set out in Social Media, their Social Media Strategy. About Jane and The Amy Project;

Amy Johnson, British record-breaking pilot of the 1930s and the first British female Ground Engineer, national heroine and international celebrity, died serving her country off the shores of Herne Bay, Kent on 5 January 1941. The tragedy was made more poignant by the mysterious circumstances surrounding the crash and dramatic rescue attempt that failed to save her and also claimed the life of the captain of the vessel that came to her aid.

Her body and the wreckage of the plane were never found. Amy was just 37 years old

The Amy Johnson Project was founded by Jane Priston in 2014.  Its purpose is to celebrate and remember this incredible aviation pioneer, search for the wreckage of her plane and answers to the many outstanding questions surrounding her death and to build on her legacy to inspire a whole new generation to consider pursuing a career in aviation or engineering, or to follow their dreams, just like Amy did.

Jane will take you on the journey of Amy’s life, incredible achievements and tragic death and how  the story of the lone girl flyer changed her own life in ways she could never have imagined.
