Behind the Scenes Networking at Police Training Ground

To celebrate Safer Kent’s 20th anniversary, we have created a special event to offer members and non-members the chance to see behind the scenes at the Police Training Headquarters. Safer Kent is the Community safety charity, working in partnership with Kent Police and other statutory services, and aims to help prevent crime, improve community safety and quash anti-social behaviour.

Itinerary;

1pm: Welcome, networking and lunch

1:30pm: Talk by Safer Kent

2pm: Split into four teams for your chance to experience real training exercises used at the Police Headquarters.

These include;

• Skid Pan – A chance to test your skills in a modified car, race around the skid pan and learn how to react when your car has lost control.
• Forensic Village Scene – Embark on a tour around a meticulously crafted village, learn how to look for and test clues as well as hearing about the clever ways that detectives solve crimes forensically.
• Staff safety and taser training – Learn how the Police protect themselves with self-defence moves, and how they are trained in the use of a taser gun.
• Fire arms training – Immerse yourself in the HQ’s 360 degree video suite, and learn how police train to use or not to use, fire arms.

If time permits, you will also have the chance to be shown around the Prison cells, and experience the nerve wracking feeling of being put under caution, questioned and held in custody.
