At Labour Party Conference 2021, Keir Starmer announced that the next Labour government would ensure every young person left education ready for work and ready for life. As a starting point to deliver that vision, Labour would introduce two weeks’ worth of mandatory work experience, put professional careers advisors in every secondary school, modernise the curriculum and ensure every schoolchild has access to an electronic device at home.
To develop further policy ideas for an education system that is fit for the future, Labour is touring the country, visiting and holding roundtables with employers, businesses, training providers and young people to hear what they need from a future-facing education system which ensures young people are ready for work and ready for life.
Labour wants to hear from you about the challenges you face in recruiting people, especially young people, with the skills your business needs, and your ideas for how our education system could be reformed to ensure it delivers the skills our economy needs for the future.
