Event Overview

The launch of the Kent and Medway Economic Renewal and Resilience Plan will take place as a virtual event at 9.30am on Monday 10th August. You are most welcome to attend. The event is free of charge.

The health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has rapidly become an economic crisis. Much economic activity in the UK has closed down or been significantly reduced. We are only now beginning to see the first shoots of tentative economic renewal as lockdown eases.

While central government has responded with an unprecedented package of measures to protect jobs and businesses on a national scale, local stakeholders (drawn from across all the local councils, education sector, and private sector) have worked in collaboration to devise a series of actions that will help to stimulate Kent and Medway’s economic recovery. These actions form the basis of the Kent and Medway Economic Renewal and Resilience Plan.

About the Kent and Medway Economic Partnership

The Kent and Medway Economic Partnership (KMEP) aims to drive forward economic growth and prosperity throughout the region. It was set up in 2013 and is the local federated board of the South East Local Enterprise Partnership. KMEP is chaired by the private sector, with membership drawn from business, local government, further and higher education.

Why should I attend?

This webinar is aimed primarily at Kent and Medway’s business leaders, freelancers and entrepreneurs. It provides an opportunity for you to hear about the actions that are being taken locally to kick-start growth and support businesses through this challenging period. After the keynote speakers have concluded, there will be time set aside to answer questions put forward by the audience. (Please note that if time does not permit all questions to be answered in the timeframe, written responses will be sent after the event).
