Kent Construction Focus Group (KCFG) – 8th September

The Kent Construction Focus Group (KCFG) is a one-stop shop for local businesses to discuss the future of Kent development, giving companies access to local knowledge, expertise and contracts. KCFG promotes the future role of Kent land development and construction businesses in the growth and development of Kent and its environment.

Hosted by members of the KCFG committee, Cheryl Causebrook and Ella Sandall, attendees can enjoy a full English breakfast at the Village Hotel, served from 7:30am, alongside speaker presentations and networking opportunities throughout the morning.

This month’s guest speakers: 

Adrian Morris, National Grid

Adrian Morris is the Deputy Project Director for Sea Link, a proposed new 138 km primarily offshore high voltage electricity link between Kent and Suffolk being developed by National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET). Sea Link is a key part of The Great Grid Upgrade, the largest overhaul of the electricity grid in generations. It will help provide homes and businesses with secure, cleaner, home-grown British energy from more affordable sources.

Adrian is responsible for overseeing preparations for construction, which is expected to start in 2027, if the project is approved. Adrian has previously worked on multiple offshore electricity projects, including the proposed Eastern Green Link 3, and the Nemo Link, Viking Link, and IFA2 interconnectors operated by National Grid Ventures.

NGET sits at the heart of Britain’s energy system, connecting millions of people and businesses to the energy they use every day. It owns, maintains and develops the high voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales. NGET safely carries power from where it is generated to where it can be distributed to homes and businesses via lower voltage regional networks.

Adrian will discuss the Sea Link project and specifically how it impacts Kent. He will also talk about the benefits and opportunities it will create for local businesses.

Camilla Maurice, Kent Invicta Chamber Of Commerce

Camilla Maurice is the Project Manager for the Kent and Medway Local Skills Improvement Plan at Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce. She has recently led the development of the new Kent and Medway LSIP 2026–2029, working with employers, sector bodies, education providers and regional partners to identify current and future skills priorities and translate them into practical, employer-led action.

Her work focuses on strengthening the link between business and education, ensuring training, apprenticeships and curriculum development respond directly to workforce demand across key sectors including construction, manufacturing and engineering, creative industries, food and farming, and the visitor economy.

With over a decade of experience in further education, including Business and Digital curriculum design, programme leadership and employer engagement, Camilla brings a strong understanding of both employer needs and the education landscape. She is committed to building stronger local talent pipelines and supporting a more productive, resilient and future-ready economy for Kent and Medway.
