Kent Construction Focus Group (KCFG) – 4th August

The Kent Construction Focus Group (KCFG) is a one-stop shop for local businesses to discuss the future of Kent development, giving companies access to local knowledge, expertise and contracts. KCFG promotes the future role of Kent land development and construction businesses in the growth and development of Kent and its environment.
Hosted by members of the KCFG committee, Cheryl Causebrook and Ella Sandall, attendees can enjoy a full English breakfast at the Village Hotel, served from 7:30am, alongside speaker presentations and networking opportunities throughout the morning.

Doug Bannister, Port of Dover
Doug has over 30 years’ experience in international business, and is currently the CEO of Port of Dover and Chair of the British Ports Association.
Prior to Dover, he has held roles with the Ports of Jersey and leading sea transportation companies including P&O Nedlloyd and Maersk Line UK & Ireland.
He has deep experience in leading asset intense operational businesses, having operated in shipping, maritime and aviation sectors.
Damian Constable, Ovenden Group
As part of the Ovenden Group, a family business that has been supporting the construction industry for over 50 years, Ovenden Drone Services reflects the group’s commitment to innovation by giving you new ways to work smarter.
Damian Constable will be talking about how drones are making a real difference in construction, from topographical surveys, stockpile measurements and inspections to timelapse, LiDAR surveys, and creating accurate digital models. He will explain how drone technology can save time, improve safety, reduce costs, and provide the data you need to make better decisions on site.
Damian has had a passion for flying since he was just four years old, when his father taught him to fly RC planes, and has been using drones since 2011. With years of hands-on experience and a genuine love of all things aerial, he’ll share practical insight into how drone technology is changing the way the construction industry works today.
