The world of tax and accounting is becoming more and more complex and small and medium sized companies are becoming more and more sophisticated and encountering issues which, in the past, were only faced by large companies.

It is a challenging time for accountants in general practice having to deal with these complex issues while facing downward pressure on fees.  The downward spiral has left many practices not being able to give clients the time they crave in order to focus on more practical areas of business finances rather than compliance.

This is the Paradox: the best way to compete is on quality not price.

Paradox Business Consultancy was formed by Hannah and Stephen who first met,  shall we say a few years ago while working on large and complex international companies for Grant Thornton in their head office in London.  They were reunited while working together for an R&D Tax Consultancy.  Hannah started her career training as  chartered accountant before moving into tax, working for top 6 accounting practices.  Stephen started out with HMRC before training with regional practices in Cambridge.  Their varied backgrounds has led them to have dealt with every type of client from individuals up to quoted companies and every type of tax issue from basic compliance to complex international restructuring.
