CARM – Caring Altogether on Romney Marsh
Caring Altogether on Romney Marsh (CARM) is a local charity supporting over 800 older and disabled people a year across Romney Marsh, Folkestone & Hythe and rural areas in Ashford and Tenterden. Our work focuses on reducing isolation, improving wellbeing, and helping people remain connected, independent, and valued within their communities. Old age is a privilege we all hope to experience, and the support we provide today is something any of us may need tomorrow.
Through services such as befriending, social meeting points, and reminiscence activities, we provide vital support to people who might otherwise face loneliness and declining health. In rural areas, where transport and access to services can be limited, our work is often a lifeline. We don’t receive any money from Kent County Council or the NHS towards providing these services.
We are now looking to build meaningful partnerships with local businesses who want to make a tangible difference in their community. This includes opportunities for:
- Corporate sponsorship and funding, helping us sustain and grow essential services
- Employee volunteering, from practical support to befriending and community activities
- Collaborative initiatives, where businesses and CARM can work together for mutual benefit and local impact
In return, we offer businesses the opportunity to demonstrate real social value, strengthen their local presence, and engage their teams in purposeful, community-focused work.
By working together, we can ensure that no one in our community is left feeling isolated or unsupported.
