PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Membership Success Manager is primarily accountable for maximising stability and growth of memberships through existing business across all of Kent. Actively engaging the companies within the membership continuously, by building relationships and understanding member’s business objectives and coupling to the benefits available to them through the Chamber. Responsible for retaining all member’s year on year.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensuring duties are carried out in line with the Company’s quality management system BS ENISO9001:2015
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Engaging with members via outbound calling, face to face contact, virtually, ensuring you are always portraying the membership in a professional manner.
- To demonstrate knowledge of the membership, understanding all of its benefits and those best suited to the company. Actively listening to their requirements and tailoring the meeting ensuring it is relevant and fitting to the needs of their business.
- To work with affiliate partners to promote their benefits to the membership where appropriate.
- Establish, continuously develop and maintain business relationships with current members to generate further business, sharing knowledge of companies and senior management moves, that could create new prospects for MDMs to follow.
- To converse concisely in all verbal and written communication internally and externally.
- To expedite the resolution of members problems, blockers, concerns or issues with the upmost professionalism.
- To ensure all paperwork is completed concisely and correctly, to seek advice and training if required and to equally support others when needed.
- To adopt a self-starter approach, whilst working within a team.
- To analyse and report regularly on company system HubSpot recognising the opportunities for potential businesses, ensuring all notes are updated and members are engaging.
- To actively promote clients through the use of social media.
- To uphold the Company Brand and working ethic internally and externally.
- To play an integral part of the membership team, along with peers, also working closely with the administration team, events team and marketing, ensuring professionalism and assisting them to achieve the requirements of the task. Understanding the importance of how each area of business is integral to each other.
- To promote the Chamber and its activities to both outside organisations and individuals by acting as the first point of contact in the members journey representing benefits and converting enquiries.
- To actively achieve set targets and KPIs.
- To demonstrate exceptional organisational skills using the correct amount of time allocated to each element of the job ensuring maximum productivity of creating an onward customer experience once the new businesses that joined are handed over. To utilise HubSpot and update calendar and notes on meetings, enabling effective reporting to ensure we can easily identify members at risk if not continuing.
- To work with MDMs and accounts ensuring that each member is gaining traction and benefit.
- To assist the membership department in carrying out its activities in line with the Company’s business plan.
- To assist with identifying commercial opportunities in conjunction with the membership team.
- To promote the Company and its activities to both outside organisations and individuals.
- To drive, host and attend and market Chamber events including Virtual Business Networking and in person Chamber Connections and other events within area as well as actively support others, by the means of social media platforms.

- Proficient computer skills and literacy
- Ability to communicate to all levels, face to face, telephone and email
- Means of transportation required to travel around Kent, (including rural areas) with some travel required elsewhere within the UK to external meetings and events.
- Embodies strong traits such as decision making, problem solving and possessing good judgement
- Ability to project a calm and professional demeanour regardless of the type of environment
- A high consideration to detail and high level of accuracy
- Trustworthy, honest, respectful, flexible and must be entrusted with confidential information
