There are a limited number of places available due to capacity restrictions and as a result of these constraints we are accepting one representative per organisation and will be prioritising manufacturing and engineering organisations in the first instance.  If we reach maximum numbers a waiting list will be put in place.

Kent & Medway Manufacturing Focus Group (KMFG) is a networking and business group for Manufacturing & Engineering organisations across Kent and Medway offering a unique access to peers and colleagues, sector specific information, advice and support.

KMFG is open to all organisations operating or directly supporting the Manufacturing and Engineering sector in Kent & Medway, whether they are chamber members or not.


Kent & Medway Manufacturing Focus Group (KMFG) Site Visit – SEC Works Group

SEC Works Group are kindly opening the doors to two of their premises giving us the opportunity to learn more about their operations, their ECO capabilities and see first hand the varied range of products they design, manufacture and convert.  All attendees will be transported between the facilities on one of their uniquely converted double decker buses.

Itinerary

  • 10.15am Meeting point at Macknade Food Hall
  • 10.30am Depart Macknade on converted bus
  • Tour of sites at SEC Signworks – Canterbury &  SEC Works Coach Building – Faversham
  • 12.50pm Return to Macknade for Lunch and Speakers – Chris Bichard, SEC Works Group & Stefano Cuomo, Macknade

Please arrive at Macknade Food Hall, Selling Road, Faversham, ME13 8XF for 10.15am where parking will be available, free of charge, for the duration of the tour.

The event is free to attend and lunch will be provided.


SEC Works Group

SEC Works Group was established in 2003 and currently operates across three sites in Canterbury, Faversham and Dunkirk employing nearly 30 members of staff.  The group provides manufacturing solutions to Marketing Agencies and Marketing Managers including a variety of innovative services from bus conversions, roadshow operations and vehicle branding graphic and design to Perspex fabrication, ECO sign making, woodwork, joinery, and commercial upholstery and trimming.

To date, SEC Works Group have delivered over 300 exciting projects.  The most interesting include growing potatoes in a branded educational bus to fabricating a giant interactive piano for the Elton John movie ‘Rocketman’.  They also work with agencies and brands including Google, Coca Cola, Waitrose, Adidas and many more as a marketing intermediary.

Community engagement is at the heart of all they do and they work extensively with young people, helping to remove barriers within disadvantaged communities.  Community vehicles can provide activities and pathways into the creative industries and support young people in their education and personal development.

Their team is rich and diverse and encompasses coach builders, carpenters, joiners, welders, painters, sign writers, electricians and professional drivers with a combined experience of over 150 years.


Chris Bichard, CEO, SEC Works Group

Chris moved to the UK at the age of 24 and has enjoyed a long and varied career, initially in finance and in 1994 he established a finance brokerage company.

A career reinvention at 42 years of age saw Chris move into the coachworks industry and the subsequent creation of SEC Works Group.  He is a passionate advocate of UK business and securing long term solutions in manufacturing; ensuring the longevity of industry and making full use of every opportunity to encourage investments in business.
