  • Recent government surveys indicate that the general public see supermarkets as being as important as the NHS for now.
  • Ray Johnson (RJ) had liaised with many businesses within the EKEDG area and in turn signposted many to the Chamber C-19 response facility and appropriate local authorities. Incredible challenges for the business community and those that embrace change, engage with staff, customers, suppliers and stakeholders will be the long term winners.
  • RJ had recent discussions with Saga who explained that they are diversifying their business and increasing flexible working in response to the Covid-19 crisis.
  • The Chamber has provided a letter of support for the Betteshanger redevelopment being promoted by Quinn Estates.
  • The Chamber (in common with other Chambers of Commerce) has received a letter of thanks from the Queen for the work being undertaken to support business during the Covid-19 crisis.
  • He advised the Dungeness visit has yet to be rearranged. A letter of support had been submitted for Betteshanger Sustainable Park. The Chamber had achieved great outcomes following many webinars including a conference.
