23rd August 2018

The Bradley Group is hosting a one-day symposium on 10th October to demystify employee health and wellbeing.

Entitled “Working Well: Your Strategy for A Healthy Business”, the day is for business leaders who need a better end-to-end understanding of what they should be doing to best safeguard their employees’ physical and mental health.

The day itself is being Chaired by Sir Bill Callaghan, Chair of the British Occupational Health Research Foundation and Chair of NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health). It will feature a number of in-depth discussions and practical demonstrations on monitoring and protecting both your employees’ mental and physical wellbeing.

Jan Mills, Managing Director of The Bradley Group discussed the significance of this event for business owners and senior managers:

“More and more, we’re seeing wellbeing as a key concern for business owners. In fact, a recent study of HR professionals found that only 13% felt that their organisation had an effective wellbeing strategy and a whopping two-thirds thought that wellbeing was still very much a ‘work in progress’. This day is about breaking down what your organisation could and should be doing to protect employees; from practical examples from high-profile employers as to what has worked, through to discussions from senior health service professionals as to what pre-emptive measures should be put in place. We are keen for attendees to get as much as possible out of the day and as such are determined to make it both fun and memorable. There will be plenty of activities on display that people can participate in that they can then look at implementing at their places of work.”

The day will also feature a keynote address from Ruby Wax OBE. Ruby is not only an established television and stage star, but she is an incredibly knowledgeable speaker on mental health and wellbeing and is a Visiting Professor in Mental Health Nursing at the University of Surrey. Jan commented:

“We are delighted that Ruby will be conducting the keynote speech on the day. Ruby has worked tirelessly to raise the profile of mental health in the UK, as illustrated by the fact she was awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for her work in the area. As you would expect she is an exceedingly engaging speaker and will certainly leave people with a lot to think about.”

The event will be running from 8.45am on 10th October at Tudor Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club in Maidstone.  Tickets, at a reduced rate for Kent Invicta Chamber members, can be purchased from or by emailing
