Protecting The Vulnerable

We need your help!

Criminals prey on the elderly and vulnerable, gaining their trust and convincing them that urgent and unnecessary work needs to be carried out on their home. Often criminals defraud victims of their life savings and destroy lives – not just financially but also physically and emotionally.

Last year, Kent County Council Trading Standards secured funding to produce a short hard-hitting film showing the devastating effects of doorstep crime and financial abuse. The film is based on the real life stories of vulnerable adults and helps us to spot the signs of this evil crime. You can watch the film here: Spot the signs of financial abuse

We often only become aware of the crime after the criminals are long gone. We want to try and change this and catch them before they destroy vulnerable lives.
