This week, the BCC took part in a meeting with the Paymaster-General on agri-food trade with the EU, focusing on export health documentation and trader difficulties. We have a further meeting with Lord Frost prior to Christmas on inbound GB controls. If you have any points you would like us to raise, please let us know by Tuesday 14 December.

The upgraded Norway-UK trade agreement came into force yesterday. It offers further tariff reductions, labour mobility opportunities, and expansion of digital trade through electronic contracts and signatures.

The UK Board of Trade published a new policy paper on digital trade at its meeting in Derry/Londonderry last week, covering the UK’s current and forthcoming trade negotiations and outlining greater opportunities for e-commerce and data flows.

Owing to concerns over the new Omicron COVID-19 variant, the World Trade Organisation’s (WTO’s) Ministerial Conference was postponed. Likely new date will be in March next year.
