Keep Watching Out For Energy Supplier Prices Even When You Have Switched

I had my local Village Tea Rooms ask me to reduce their energy prices form £20k/year, which I did, by switching them form EdF’s high default tariffs to two new suppliers / retailers, saving the 25-30% and the Tea Rooms asked to be contracted for 3 years.

But when these two new contracts expired 3 years later, the new energy retailers / suppliers’ tariffs shot up by 20-25%, almost to where Edf’s tariffs had been.

So, the moral of this story is that even when you have switched your energy supplier (Gas or Electricity) once, you need to keep an eye on the prices as even the new energy retailer / suppliers are getting up to old supplier (“Big 6) habits of extorting their customers as they think you won’t switch again.
