ABOUT WHEELABRATOR KEMSLEY:
Wheelabrator Kemsley is a combined heat and power facility which will generate up to 49.9 MW (gross) of clean, renewable baseload energy, enough to power over 100,000 homes, by processing up to 550,000 tonnes of post-recycled waste per year.
The merchant facility will process waste derived fuel, provided by a range of waste management companies,
utilising local and regional waste from Kent and the south east region.
Due to the facility’s location, Wheelabrator Kemsley will also provide valuable steam heat to the adjacent Kemsley Paper Mill, owned and operated by DS Smith, which will help diversify the mill’s long-term energy requirements.
