Carers’ Support East Kent

We are Carers’ Support East Kent, a charity providing over 9,000 Carers with information and support each year.  Carers are unpaid and often care for a friend or relative who, due to physical or mental illness, age related difficulties, disability or an addiction cannot manage without support.

1 in 9 workers will combine working with caring responsibilities.  As an employer, recognising Carers in your workforce is important.  We can help you support them  juggle the demands of caring for someone and work.

We provide all our services free of charge and rely on support to be able to do this.  Partnering with us will change the lives of Carers.  From raising funds to growing awareness of Carers’ and their needs, our partners play a vital role in helping us to achieve our vision of recognising, valuing and supporting all Carers in East Kent.  By working together for Carers, your company can help us to champion Carers’ needs and ensure they get the right support when they need it most.  Read more about our services and partnering with us.

We support Carers by identifying their needs, providing information, hosting support groups and social activities, as well as giving emotional help.  We help Carers know their rights and how to access benefits, giving Carers a better quality of life.  We listen and identify the impact caring is having on a Carer’s life; supporting the Carer to continue their important role.  We run drop ins, support groups and social activities, bringing Carers together, preventing them from being isolated and alone.  We run skills workshops and social outings for Young Adult Carers, supporting them to juggle adolescent life with their caring responsibilities.
