Figures released in the most recent Graduate Outcomes survey reveal that Canterbury Christ Church University is the best university in the UK for graduates in employment.

The results reveal 94% of all Canterbury Christ Church graduates were in work 15 months after finishing their course. This ranks the University first among large UK universities* compared to the national average of 87%.

The Graduate Outcomes survey is the UK’s largest annual social survey capturing the status of recent graduates. The recent survey covers students who graduated in 2020/ 21 during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also shows:

  • 96% of Canterbury Christ Church UK based, full-time, first-degree graduates were in employment or further study 15 months after completing their studies. Not only is this the University’s highest ever score for this measure, but it also exceeds any previously recorded national average.
  • 98% of Canterbury Christ Church postgraduate students were in work 15 months after finishing their course. Again, this ranks the University first among large UK universities**

Professor Rama Thirunamachandran OBE DL, Vice-Chancellor of Canterbury Christ Church University, said the results were further evidence of how for over 60 years the University has supported Kent and Medway’s economy, businesses, public services and communities by producing sought-after, career-ready graduates.

“The results show that if you want to enhance your career prospects then Canterbury Christ Church University is THE place to study. Once again, our graduates are leading the way and making a positive difference to the region and to help re-build in a post-covid world. We are incredibly proud of all our students for their hard work and dedication,” he said.

“It is also testament to the hard work of our staff, the quality of our teaching and our approach to embedding employability throughout our courses. We work closely with business and industry to forge strong partnerships that benefit our students and the economy. These partnerships ensure our graduates have the skills and knowledge to thrive in their chosen careers as soon as they enter the workforce.

“To be named as number one in the UK for graduates in employment is an outstanding achievement and shows the value of gaining a degree from Canterbury Christ Church University.”
