Pioneer Chapter of BNI, Maidstone, set for a testing 12 hour Coronation Walk this Sunday in preparation for 3 Peaks Challenge.

A team of 25 ambitious walkers (including 9 BNI members, 8 Health Hut Nutrition Club Maidstone and 8 Friends and supporters) have set themselves a target for training and completing the incredible 3 Peaks Challenge, 20th May, raising funds for The Kenward Trust, Kent’s leading alcohol and drugs rehabilitation centre based in Yalding.

This has taken a consistent group effort of training and advice given by Adel Murphy of Health Hut Nutrition Club, Maidstone. Adel set a routine and determined schedule to build stamina and prevent injuries. This weekend the group will walk for 12 hours with breaks starting at 6am on Sunday morning to help prepare us for the big event on 20 May – a 4 x 4 x 4 walking effort completing midnight Sunday: Box Hill Surrey (4 hours), Blue Bell Hill start from picnic view (4 hours), Boughton Monchelsea Village Hall (4 hours).

Ex-resident of Kenward Trust, Cullum, part of the team fundraising says: “I was a resident of Kenward’s Resettlement service which provides supported accommodation to help those with addiction issues begin their recovery journey. Kenward Trust has had a profound impact on my life and I would love to show them my appreciation by taking part in this challenge. I am very proud to be over 2 years clean and sober and living a healthy, peaceful and content life; all thanks to the support and help from Kenward Trust. They help to transform lives and support individuals recover and gain the vital tools necessary to manage the illness of addiction.”
