New figures published by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport reveal that the UK’s Creative Industries are worth over £84 billion per year to the economy. The figures indicate that the sector is growing at almost twice the rate of the wider UK economy and generates over £9.6 million per hour.
Minister for Culture, Ed Vaizey said: “Government continues to create the right environment for creative industries to thrive, through tax reliefs, inward investment, and safeguarding music and cultural education programmes. 2016 is shaping up to be another great year right across the UK’s most dynamic sector.”
