Whilst the Chancellor may have warned of a dangerous cocktail of new threats facing the country in the coming year this seems to have done little to dampen the confident mood of many in business. A recent survey by BDO, an accountancy firm, highlights a mixture of the continuing low interest rates, an improving job outlook and positive prices at the shops and on fuel creating an upbeat mood.

The South East, along with London and the East of England were all top performers in the Lloyds index of business activity at the close of 2015 – staying at over 50 on the scale for more than three years shows a solid economic base for the regions.
