Kent County Council delivers apprenticeships to Kent with the support of XperiSoft Limited

The case for Apprenticeships has been made and the Government’s commitment is clear. There were over 500,000 apprenticeship starters in 2015 / 16 and that number is expected to grow.

“The growth in apprenticeships is exciting”, comments David Knox Apprenticeship and employer engagement officer for Kent County Council.

“There are more career choices and a wider spectrum of qualification options than ever before”.

However, anecdotal evidence suggests that most apprentices prefer working close to home and local apprenticeships can be difficult to find. David believes that bringing the apprenticeship and the apprentice together at the local level is essential if KCC is to assist the continued growth of Kent apprenticeships.

KCC has built a go-to facility for apprenticeship recruitment. They called it Apprentice Kent.  “It’s ready, advertising is free, and we’re already developing great traction with employers, training providers and apprenticeship candidates”, says Daniel Ratcliff, KCC’s Employability Project Officer.

“Initially, our first challenge was making it as easy to use as possible” concedes Daniel.

“We knew that local Colleges were using XperiSoft’s CVMinder HUB to manage apprenticeship recruitment so we got together to figure out a solution. “

XperiSoft already integrates with Recruit an Apprentice and they helped KCC to define an interface for the automated upload of apprenticeships from CVMinder HUB.

“Avoiding the manual upload of apprenticeships into Apprentice Kent was essential if our clients were to use it”, comments Stuart Haddow, XperisSoft’s MD.

“Daniel has a great team and we successfully specified and delivered a combined interface in double time.”

The MidKent College JobShop, led by Danielle Fritter, was brilliantly supportive in carefully testing the final solution.

CVMinder HUB manages employer apprenticeships, work placements and other vacancies. Target the right candidate groups effortlessly, receive more applications and manage the entire recruitment process in one system.  We can even support student employability and help you to improve outcomes.
