OVER 60 ASHFORD BUSINESS PEOPLE ATTEND THE WILKINS KENNEDY FKC COMMERCIAL QUARTER AND BEYOND PRESENTATION
Ashford based chartered accountants and business advisers Wilkins Kennedy FKC hosted a “Commercial Quarter and Beyond” presentation and question and answer session with regard to the future of the Ashford business sector at the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce at 3.30pm on 16th September 2011.
Guests were provided with an overview of the role of the South East Local Entrerprise Partnership (LEP) in delivering the conceptual policy for Ashford, with an explanation as to how councils, businesses and the LEP can work together to create the right environment for growth in Ashford and the surrounding areas.
After the presentation explaining the concept including business involvement in local strategy and concept delivery, the thought process and plans for the Business Quarter and the two selected brownfield sites were discussed in more detail, along with the marriage of village developments with the larger town envelope boundary extension.
Hugh Summerfield, managing partner at Wilkins Kennedy FKC (pictured), said:

“The well-attended presentation served to inform and update Ashford businesses on the current state of the Business Quarter development under the new government, and promoted wide ranging discussion. It is without doubt that the Business Quarter requires a structured and robust housing programme to move forward, and the presentation and question and answer session enabled corroboration of the project vision desired by both businesses and planners.”
