Discovery Park Sale Brings Certainty
From Locate in Kent

Pfizer’s former research and development site in Sandwich, renamed Discovery Park, has been bought by a private consortium.

Discovery Park Limited has acquired the freehold of the science park, which consists of 3m sq ft of commercial space across 213 acres, including laboratories, offices and warehouses.

The company has been set up by Trevor Cartner and Chris Musgrave in partnership with Palmer Capital. Paul Barber, a former managing director of Priority Sites, the Government regeneration company, will become managing director of Discovery Park Limited.

This is extremely positive news and a major move forward for East Kent. The purchase by the Discovery Park Limited consortium builds on the foundations laid in the 18 months since Pfizer announced its decision to withdraw.

Now that there is certainty over the ownership of Discovery Park it will strengthen the Kent proposition for companies looking to locate to a science park environment.

The offering of Discovery Park is a very attractive one to life science companies and we look forward to working with the new owners to really make it a success.
