Bookings will remain open until the event itself, but please note that if you book with less than 24 hours to go, your name won’t be on the “List of Attendees” or the “Signing in Sheet” and you won’t have a “Name Badge” on arrival.

You must be based in Kent and In the Construction Industry to attend. Those that book to attend that do not fit this criteria will be contacted and a joining link will not be given/a refund issued.


The Kent Construction Focus Group (KCFG) is a one-stop-shop for local businesses to discuss the future of Kent development, giving companies access to local knowledge, expertise and contracts. KCFG promotes the future role of Kent land development and construction businesses in the growth and development of Kent and its environment.

During the morning, come and hear from guest speakers; Martin White from Green Business Hub and Steve Walker from Walker Construction who will be talking about carbon audits in the construction sector – what are they and why they are increasingly important for your business.


About Steve Walker, Walker Construction

Steve Walker started working for the family in 1979 when they opened the Tool Hire Centre, where he worked his way up to General Manager by 1982. In 1987 he took over as Managing Director of Star Plant, the family’s plant hire company, which he managed until it was sold in 2006.

Later, he was appointed Director of Associated Divisions at Walker Construction and in April 2012 was appointed to the position of Company Chairman.


About Abdullahi Ahmed, Canterbury Christ Church University

Dr Abdullahi Ahmed is the Director of Engineering and Built Environment at Canterbury Christ Church University.

With over 20 years of industry and higher education experience, Dr Ahmed is a highly experienced educator and leader in the fields of Engineering and Built Environment he has depth and breadth of experience in the construction life-cycle as it relates to digital construction, circular economy, energy efficiency, performance management, and retrofit. Dr Ahmed is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineering.


About Martin White, Green Business Hub

Martin White is Founder and Director of Green Business Hub – www.greenbusinesshub.eco & the bi-weekly Biz Connect Radio Show – www.kentbizconnect.co.uk.
