The following courses are being offered to those students who are looking to undertake a vocational qualification over the summer holiday with work experience.

For successfully completing the course/s taken over the 6 weeks we will also covers travel expenses and books.

Week 1 – CLASSROOM in School / College

Student Access Allocated to Virtual Learning Environment and Walk-through of the Course Details


Week 2 – 5 – HOME – Distance Learning
Weekly contact made between you and the tutor
Ad hoc assessment and support provided if necessary

Between Week 2 to 5 (For one week)
Work experience (5 days)
Contact made between student and tutor support

Week 6 – CLASSROOM in School / College

The Key Points

  • You must neither be in any other education nor employment during the 6 weeks
  • You might have been resident in England for the last 3 years
  • To get your £400 you must successfully pass our Tutors and Assessors marking and be able to be issued with both your chosen course but also must have been successful in both our Functional Skills course too  (English & Maths)
  • You must find your own work experience for 1 week (agreed with employer before you start your courses)
  • Travel expenses are only paid within the £400 and so it pays to succeed on the courses

Virtual Campus: Distance Learning

Our virtual campus has a unique STUDY STYLE, complete with a virtual learning environment where you will access your; Access to Higher Education course, QCF course or NVQ course e-workbooks and conduct the majority of your work, fully supported with qualified e-tutors. A password protected e-forum & study community (available only to Ixion College students) allows you to ask fellow students questions and perhaps get answers 24 x 7

Use your PC/Mac/Smart-Phone/Tablet to attend group tutor led group webinars and take advantage of the latest online Training/Tutorial technology that makes distance learning more flexible and personal.

Our courses have been designed to enable you to study at home, at work, or both, if that is more convenient.
