Once again the Post Budget Breakfast sponsored & presented by Girlings Solicitors & WK Finn-Kelsey was very well attended with companies coming from all over the area to hear how the Chancillors budget would affect business.
This annual breakfast meeting held at Eastwell Pavillion provides an opportunity to have the budget report broken down into managable pieces minus all the waffle. The presentation was yet again an overwhelming success for all those who attended. This format allows for a comprehensive look at the budget but with the facts and figures broken down in an unbiased form.
Nick Rowell Head of Chamber Policy started the presentation with a over view of how the Credit Crunch and the Budget is affecting our Economic growth both in the UK and overseas. He went on to explain how the current situation may pan out for us all in the coming months and years. Addressing our current fears and how to thrive by taking control of your earning power and productivity.
Kevin Thornby from WK Finn – Kelseyhad annalised the Personal and Business Taxation as well as the changes to VAT. Running through how changes to rates will affect the personal allowances, Corporation taxes, capital allwances and business expenditure on cars.
Chris Vernon from Girlings solicitors rounded off the presentation with a look at IHT rates and how these will change in the coming year.
All in all the Post Budget Breakfast offers members the chance to see through the headlines to the facts that matter.
