The Economic Development Groups are to my mind the engine room of the Chamber. At the Ashford Economic Development Group, (AEDG), we are a representative group of members who meet for 1.5 hours on the third Thursday of every month between 4 pm to 5:30 pm at the Chamber offices Waterbrook Avenue. We publish our minutes on the Chamber website together with an Action and Project List. Take a look and see what subjects we discuss and who attends the meetings.
Having said who we are, and hopefully you have taken a look at the minutes can I move to the next step and ask you to consider taking an active part in discussing the wide range of subjects, formulating action plans, and moving issues forward to a satisfactory conclusion. You will see we are not just a talking shop, our view is widely respected by Local Authorities, Education & Skills Organisations, Large Business Groups and Polictical Groups locall6y and nationally.
So are you up for it? do you want your view to be heard? Give me a call at the Chamber and have a chat and see if you can make a difference.
Maindstone and Canterbury also have an EDG, get involved.
Still not convinced then put your views and opinions here on the blog. If I can get back into the system, (this is my first time as a blogger), then I will answer.
Richard Lavender (Chairman) AEDG
