BIS consults on improving consumer Ts and Cs

Posted on Friday 18th March, 2016 by

The Department for Business (BIS) has launched a consultation on how to make terms and conditions (Ts and Cs) more accessible and transparent for consumers. Respondents are invited to suggest practical ways to do this, and also to comment on BIS suggestions, such as putting key facts in bold and grouping terms under clear headings.

BIS is also seeking views on new penalties for firms that breach unfair terms legislation, including the introduction of civil fines. The consultation closes on 25th April 2016.
