Angela Wilson a former Team GB swimmer is adding Whitstable to the Kent locations. Angela swam Internationally for Great Britain representing them in the European, World and Commonwealth Games and was selected for the Olympic team for Barcelona in 1992. Over the past fifteen years she has been running a highly successful swim school in Kent and London. She franchised in 2014 and now has added locations in Surrey and East Sussex.
With an Olympic swimmer at the helm this is sure to be a great opportunity for children to learn to swim in this school. Angela has taught thousands of children and adults to swim and seen them go onto be selected for Team GB and represent the country through her swim school programme. In 2012 three of Angela’s swimmers were fortunate to be selected as part of the Olympic torch relay due to their achievements through Angela’s teaching. Angela is also an active Lady Taverner who now raises money through sponsored swimming to support the Lord Taverners charity. More recently Angela was given the honour of presenting the Duke Of Edinburgh Gold awards at St James Palace on behalf of his Royal Highness the Earl Of Wessex to over 60 young people. In 2009 Angela adopted a child with special needs and decided to focus her attention to bringing up her daughter .
Last year Angela, along with the franchise owner for the Whitstable area, Janice Hutton, competed in the British Gas Swimathon at the Olympic pool in Stratford alongside Duncan Goodhew and David Walliams.
