The Chamber is a Company limited by guarantee, and has a Board of Directors who are elected by the Membership at an Annual General Meeting. A President and Chairman are elected by the Board of Directors as is the Chief Executive/Director. The Board of Directors is responsible for the strategic direction of the company and authority is delegated down to the Chief Executive and the staff of the organisation.
Members have an important role to play in the Chamber’s representational work by becoming involved with the Chamber’s Committees that cover a wide range of business interests. The Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce is a business organisation run by the business community for the business community.
The Chamber is affiliated to, and accredited by, the central organisation of the Chamber network, the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC). The BCC, representing over 135,000 businesses in the UK, makes representation to Government and is consulted on a wide range of business issues and proposed legislation.
The Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce plays an active role in the South East England Chamber, which has been set up specifically to represent business needs and views for the South East England Development Agency.
Kent Invicta Chamber is an active part of the Kent Gateway Chamber of Commerce, an umbrella organisation formed by Accredited Chambers in Kent to provide the County with a single business voice. Each Chamber retains its sovereignty whilst benefiting from the added influence and authority of the combined membership.
